Every city has a story waiting to be told. For GTH Johor Bahru students, that story began at the southernmost Kilometer Zero marker of Peninsular Malaysia and unfolded through the cultural landmarks of Johor Bahru.
During this field practice, students explored Tan Hiok Nee Heritage Street, the Johor Bahru Chinese Heritage Museum, and the Johor Old Temple, gaining deeper insights into the city’s history, culture, and multicultural identity.
More than a sightseeing activity, this outdoor training allowed students to practice observation, communication, storytelling, and guiding skills in a real environment. They learned that tour guiding is not simply about sharing facts, but about connecting visitors with the people, places, and stories that shape a destination.
Through every step of the journey, students strengthened their ability to bring Johor Bahru’s heritage to life and create meaningful experiences for future travelers.
